INITIA NOVA ACADEMY – TERMS OF SERVICE

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Initia Nova Academy website and all services provided by Stella Learning Academy (Pty) Ltd, trading as Initia Nova Academy (“the Academy”, “we”, “our”, “us”).

By accessing our website, enrolling in our programs, or using any of our educational services, you agree to comply with these Terms.

If you do not agree, you should discontinue use of our website and services.

1. About Initia Nova Academy

Initia Nova Academy is a private educational provider and GED® Preparation Centre operating under Stella Learning Academy (Pty) Ltd.
We offer:

  • Self-paced academic support

  • GED® preparation

  • Foundation and intermediate support programs

  • MobyMax® and Essential Education® access

  • Tutoring sessions and structured learning pathways

The Academy is not a CAPS or IEB mainstream school and does not issue the National Senior Certificate.
This is clearly stated in the Handbook’s orientation section. 


2. Acceptance of These Terms

By using our website or services, you confirm that:

  • You are 18 or older, or

  • You are the parent/guardian enrolling a minor, or

  • You are a student aged 13+ with parental consent

You agree to abide by the rules, expectations, and procedures presented in both these Terms and the official Initia Nova Learner’s Handbook (2026/27)


3. Educational Services Provided

Initia Nova Academy provides supportive educational services, including:

  • Academic instruction

  • Lesson facilitation

  • Online learning access

  • Assessment preparation

  • Digital learning tools

The Handbook outlines these expectations and responsibilities. 

We do not control or administer:

  • GED® exams themselves

  • GED® exam fees

  • Pearson Vue policies

  • External testing centre requirements

All official GED® testing is conducted through third-party authorised centres.


4. Student Conduct, Behaviour & Safety

By enrolling, students agree to abide by the Code of Conduct, including:
✔ Respectful behaviour
✔ No bullying or discrimination
✔ Safe, appropriate digital behaviour
✔ Compliance with disciplinary procedures

The Code of Conduct applies on-site and online.
Violations may result in disciplinary action, suspension, or expulsion.

5. Attendance Expectations

Students are required to attend scheduled classes, tutoring, online sessions, and assessments as outlined in the Attendance Policy.

Repeated lateness or absence may affect academic standing or enrolment status.

6. Use of Digital Platforms

Students must use digital tools responsibly and comply with:

  • Digital citizenship rules

  • Online behaviour expectations

  • Device usage rules

Sharing explicit content, unauthorised recordings, harassment, and misuse of platforms are strictly prohibited.

7. Fees, Billing & Refunds

  • All fees must be paid according to the Academy's published tuition schedule.

  • Fees are non-refundable unless specified in writing.

  • GED® exam fees are priced in USD and converted to ZAR at current exchange rates.

  • Non-payment may result in suspension of services or termination of enrolment.


8. Assessment Integrity

Students must complete all tests, assignments, and exams honestly and independently.
Academic misconduct includes:

  • Plagiarism

  • Copying

  • Cheating

  • AI misuse

  • Fabrication

  • Impersonation

Consequences for misconduct include:
0 marks, suspension, disciplinary hearing, or expulsion.

9. Safety, Health & Emergency Procedures

Students and visitors must adhere to Initia Nova's safety procedures including:

  • Evacuation protocols

  • Lockdown protocols

  • First aid reporting

  • Campus behaviour expectations

10. Data Protection & Privacy (POPIA Compliance)

Initia Nova Academy complies with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).

We collect and store necessary information including:

  • Learner and parent details

  • Academic records

  • Medical/emergency info

  • Attendance and disciplinary data

  • Digital platform usage

We will never sell or share your information for marketing purposes.
Data is shared only when legally required or for academic services (e.g., GED® testing).

11. Use of AI & Technology

AI tools may be used only under educator guidance.
Using AI to produce full assignments without permission counts as academic dishonesty.

Students may not upload private information into AI platforms.


12. Limitation of Liability

Initia Nova Academy is not liable for:

  • Loss of personal property

  • Unauthorised use of digital devices

  • Internet issues on the user’s side

  • External exam scheduling, pricing, or results

  • Personal injury caused by misconduct

  • Academic outcomes dependent on student participation


13. Website Usage

Users may not:

  • Copy website content

  • Misuse our branding, graphics, or intellectual property

  • Attempt to hack or damage the website

  • Upload harmful or illegal materials

All website content belongs to Initia Nova Academy under Stella Learning Academy (Pty) Ltd.


14. Modifications to Terms

We may update these Terms at any time.
Updates will be posted on this page and communicated where necessary.

Continued use of our website or services constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
