School Dress Code

Dress Code – What You Need to Know

At Initia Nova Academy, you don’t need to wear a uniform — you just need to dress in a way that’s comfortable, respectful, and appropriate for school.

Here’s the simple breakdown:

1. Wear Clothes That Cover What They Need To

Your clothes must cover your private areas and undergarments at all times.

No see-through items, super short shorts, or anything overly revealing. If you can’t sit, bend, or move without worrying something will show — choose something else.

2. No Offensive or Inappropriate Prints

Please avoid clothing with:

  • swear words
  • violence
  • drugs/alcohol
  • sexual images
  • hate speech

Basically, if it would make someone uncomfortable, it’s not for school.

3. Hats & Hoodies

  • You can wear hoodies — just keep the hood off inside.
  • Hats and caps also come off indoors.
  • If headwear is for religious or medical reasons, it’s 100% allowed.

4. Shoes On, Please

For safety, shoes must be worn at all times while on campus.

5. Hair, Piercings & Accessories

You’re welcome to express yourself!

Just keep things:

  • clean
  • neat-ish
  • not distracting
  • safe

Bright colours? Yes.

Piercings? Yes.

Huge accessories that swing around and hit someone? Probably not.

6. Smell Nice (But Not Too Nice)

Good hygiene is important.

Please avoid heavy perfumes/colognes — some people are sensitive or allergic.

 7. Cultural & Religious Wear

We fully support cultural and religious expression.

Traditional clothing and headwear are always welcome as long as they’re safe and allow you to participate in class.

8. Casual Everyday Wear

You can wear:

  • T-shirts
  • Hoodies
  • Jeans
  • Shorts
  • Comfortable skirts/dresses

Just keep it clean, modest, and school-appropriate.

 9. Special Theme Days

Dress-up days and civvies days are encouraged!

Just keep the same basic rules in mind: appropriate, comfortable, respectful.

10. If Something Isn’t Appropriate…

A facilitator may quietly ask you to change or adjust what you’re wearing.

No drama — just a quick fix.

If it becomes a pattern, we’ll chat with you (and maybe your parents) to figure out what’s going on.

Bottom Line

Be yourself. Dress comfortably. Respect the space and the people around you.

If you’re unsure whether something is okay to wear — just ask. We’re here to help!
